The terms sheet I posted yesterday is still worth taking a look at, but I would look at the one below first as it is a tailored more to the exam itself. ALSO, THE EXAM WILL BE ON FRIDAY.
I'll have more for you tomorrow, but this will get you started.
1848 Revolutions Chart- That you started today, due on the block day next week.
· 1848 in France · 1848 in Austria · 1848 in Prussia
· Identify key figures and their roles and desires · Describe the immediate spark of revolution · Describe any major events · Describe the outcome of the revolution · Describe the evidence of any –isms On the block day in class we looked at Romanticism, the dominant art style in the first half of the 19th century. Read pages 758-761 and answer the following.
Today we took a quiz and reviewed Liberalism and Nationalism, then you had time to get started on the work below. As you finish that up, watch the video below and take notes on Communism to get ready for a quiz on Monday. I'd apologize for my face not being there, but it might be better this way. Also, ignore anything related to days of the week in the video.
This week we discussed the Age of Metternich and the goals of Conservatism. Next week will be about the ideas that scared them. Today we worked on part of the homework understanding Liberalism and Nationalism. For homework: Watch the video below and take notes. We will have a quick quiz on it at the beginning of class and then go a little deeper with these two isms. Please forgive the fact that my ugly mug is in two places, it was the first one I ever did with this program. Cover it with a post it if you need to. Today we took our test on the Industrial Revolution. Next we head into a chapter about the intellectual changes that result and how they shape the world.
Get a head start by reading pages 747-753 and answering the following: 1a. What was the Congress of Vienna? 1b. Describe the concept of balance of power. 1c. Describe why the Congress's treatment of France was fairly lenient. 2. Who were the participants and what was the purpose of the Holy Alliance the the Congress system? 3a. Describe the makeup of the Austrian Empire. 3b. Identify Metternich. 3c. How and why were nationalism and liberalism regarded as dangerous to those in power? I'd said at the beginning that we would be in this chapter for about a week, and as we come to the end of a second it's time to test out of it, which we'll take care of on Thursday. The study guide below will give you a pretty good head start on it. I'll run a review session for whoever is interested tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch.
