Sorry for the delay in getting this post up. I spent all of Friday afternoon in a jury pool and have to go back on Monday. Chapter 29 covers the rise of totalitarian dictators and WWII. Homework (For Thursday)For pages 922-926 answer the following about painting at the turn of the century. #8a. Who were the major expressionists and what they each hoped to accomplish with their art. #8b. How did this go further with Picasso and Kandinsky through Dadaism and Surrealism? Classwork (Due Friday)Below is the work we started on the block day. For each of the figures listed, jot a few notes about how they are examples of the trends before and after the Great War. There may be some time to work on this tomorrow in class.
EDIT 5:45- I don't have to report for jury duty tomorrow so it will be a normal day. Study session at 7:25am if you're interested in such things. Literature, art, and science reflected the period of uncertainty and questioning traditional understandings of the universe and human nature. To get started, answer the questions below that introduce you to the uncertainty and trouble of the Twenties.
